Post-Wildfire Ecology for Environmental Restoration
MICRO-CERTIFICATE
Wildfire management is among the most challenging and pressing issues in British Columbia today. As annual wildfires continue to escalate, this program equips learners with the practical skills and knowledge to understand and treat the effects of fire on natural ecosystems; prepare communities to respond to wildfire threats; and create ecosystem resilience. A broad range of ecosystems and conditions will be studied through intensive in-class and on-site learning, along with practical online applications.
LiDAR Data for Climate Change Mitigation
MICRO-CERTIFICATE
LiDAR is a remote sensing survey method that facilitates 3D mapping of the Earth’s surface including urban and rural topography. This program equips learners to use and analyze LiDAR data for developing critical information towards mitigating the impacts of climate change. Designed to enhance introductory education in geography, geomatics, or GIS, this online curriculum is designed through ongoing consultations with government and industry, while blending theory with competency-based skills.
Teaching the Holocaust
MICRO-CERTIFICATE
Developed in collaboration with leading Holocaust educators and researchers, this program is tailored for pre-service and in-service teachers preparing to integrate Holocaust education into their curriculum. Participants engage in critical reflection, addressing complex ethical considerations and cultivating essential knowledge and skills to facilitate nuanced, age-appropriate, and trauma-informed learning experiences for diverse groups of learners. They will also gain insights into key issues surrounding racism, discrimination, and human rights violations, empowering them to navigate sensitive topics with empathy, sensitivity, and understanding. Tourism Sustainability

Shxun’utun Sul’hween - Footprints of the Ancestors: Pathways to Reconciliation
