“Summer Celebration” Photo Contest
2010 is the ELC´s 40th Anniversary – and we´re celebrating! Send us your best photos to show us why studying in Victoria is so amazing for a chance to win some great prizes!
Photo Categories
- Favourite Faces (new friends! host family! Teachers! CAs!)
- Favourite Places (in Victoria, at UVic, the ELC, in Canada…)
- Oh Canada! (what does “Canada” look like/mean to you? Send your most “Canadian” pictures – of scenery, friends, something you only find in Canada, etc.)
- Happy 40th Anniversary ELC! (the more creative the better!)
How to Enter
- Choose your best, original photos in JPEG files of at least 500KB and no larger than 2MB
- Fill out an entry form at the ELC´s 2nd floor registration or enter online
- Email us your photos: kjardin@uvic.ca
- Deadline: August 10, 2010
Contest Rules and Guidelines
- Contest is open to past and present ELC students only!
- Maximum 20 photo entries per student (5 per category)
- Photos entered in previous ELC photo contests are not eligible
- Entries must be original photos taken by the person submitting them
- Photos featuring other people can only be entered with their consent
Contest Prizes
Grand Prize (1): Gateway LT Series Netbook Computer (approx. value: $300)
People’s Choice Award (1): Whale watching Gift Certificate (approx. value: $75)
Category First Prizes (4): UVic Hooded Sweatshirt (approx. value: $50)
Contest Judging
For the Grand Prize and Category First Prizes, photos will be judged by ELC staff.
For the People’s Choice Award, the top 20 photos nominated for this award will be posted on the ELC Facebook page for online voting.
Winners will be announced on August 13.
