The English Language Centre is located in one of the newest buildings on campus, with I6 classrooms, 2 language labs and our administrative offices. It is centrally located near the buses, student union building and main cafeteria.
Our programs include free social and cultural activities such as coffee socials, dances, karaoke nights, downtown tours, sports, arts and crafts, etc., giving our students lots of opportunities to practise their English.
Our students have access to modern facilities that only a university can offer, such as language labs, libraries, wifi and several computer labs. The 12-Week Program also includes access to a very popular Study Centre and Pronunciation Clinic.
Our helpful administrative staff, cultural assistants, excellent homestay families, dedicated volunteers and kind teachers are available to assist students throughout their program. Small class sizes guarantee that each student receives lots of personal attention in the classroom.

Successful completion of the ELC's University Admission Preparation Programs prepares students to study at English-speaking universities and satisfies the UVic language requirement for undergraduate and graduate programs. Students with a TOEFL score of 500 who meet the academic requirements for admission to UVic will be granted conditional acceptance to undergraduate programs.
