Concept - Focus Group Questions

Women in Art, Virtual Museum of Canada

You may want to consider asking your focus group members or survey participants the following types of questions when developing an educational website:

  1. What would you like to see on a museum website?
  2. What type of museum websites do you visit now?
  3. How long do you stay at a museum website? What type of activities encourage you stay at one page longer than another?
  4. Why do you visit museum websites? Are you visiting for fun, for help with homework, information on exhibits or collections, or information on hours and special events?
  5. How did you find out about this museum website?
  6. Do you have a favourite design approach? What are the best items on an educational website?
  7. Do you download activities from museum websites? Would you use downloadable activities or learning tools to use at home with your family?
  8. Would teachers use this website as a resource? Would children use it to help with homework?
  9. Where are you when you visit a museum website? At home or at work? Are you alone or do you visit websites with family members?
