To participate in the promotion complete and submit the online form to join UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies email list to receive regular news and updates by email from UVic’s Continuing Studies related to its courses, programs, workshops, lectures and other offerings and special events. All entries must be received by 11:59:59PM Pacific Time on January 31, 2012. Limit one (1) entry per person and per email address. Automated entries are prohibited and any use of automated devices will result in disqualification.
The promotion starts on November 16, 2011 and closes on January 31, 2012 at 11:59:59 PM Pacific Time.
Anyone can participate in the promotion but to be eligible to win you must be a University of Victoria Alumni as defined by the University of Victoria Alumni Association. The winner’s name will be verified through the University of Victoria Alumni Association prior to awarding the prize. Employees of the Division of Continuing Studies and their relatives are not eligible to participate.
There is one prize available to be won consisting of one (1) Apple iPad2 (16GB, Wi-Fi + 3G). Prize must be accepted as awarded. Prize is non-transferable and non-assignable. No substitution of prize is permitted except by UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies. The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.
One (1) entry will be selected in a random draw from among all eligible entries received. Draw will be conducted on or before February 29, 2012 at the offices of UVic Division of Continuing Studies, PO Box 3030 STN CSC, Victoria, BC, V8W 3N6 Canada. In order to be declared a winner, selected applicant must first correctly answer an unaided time limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by email or mail, and his/her entry must have been verified by UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies. UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies reserves the right to require proof of age prior to awarding any prize. If a minor is selected, the parent or legal guardian of the selected entrant must sign an affidavit, in order for their child to be declared the winner. The prize will be issued in the parent or legal guardian’s name.
The winner will be notified by email at the email address provided in the entry form within 48 hours of the draw. Selected winner will be required to acknowledge via email in writing his/her receipt of notification of eligibility for prize ad correctly answer a time limited mathematical skill testing question. If no response is received by UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies within three (3) business days of notification, the prize will be forfeited and maybe awarded to alternate winner in a random draw selected from the remaining eligible entries.
UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies is not responsible for any costs associated with claiming the prize. Winner is solely responsible for any shipping costs outside Canada and for the reporting and payment of any and all taxes, if any, that may result in claiming a prize in this promotion.
Decisions of UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment in respect to this promotion. UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies reserves the right at any time to withdraw this promotion or to modify, amend, or supplement these rules, in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
By participating in this promotion, the winner consents to the use by UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies of their name, hometown, age and photograph for any lawful purpose, without further permission or compensation, except prohibited by law. The winner agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules.
