Strategic Training: Improving Workplace Learning and Performance

CACE 0.5 elective credit

Are your training programs contributing to the achievement of organizational goals? Aligning training programs with an organization’s business strategy plays a critical role in addressing many of today’s workplace challenges. In this workshop, you will examine how the role of training is changing and analyze the relationship between training, performance and business strategy. You will develop a deeper understanding of how to design training programs that can improve employee performance and meet business needs. You will leave the workshop with an action plan that outlines what, where and how improvements may be implemented.

Objective

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Explain how the role of training is changing
• Describe the strategic training and development process
• Examine the organizational characteristics that influence training
• Analyze the level of alignment between existing training and development programs and organizational goals and strategy 
• Assess the extent to which current training and development efforts contribute to improved performance and results
• Design an effective training and development process that is strategically focused
• Develop a framework for assessing and ensuring a strategic connection of your training and development programs to organizational goals
