Join us as we explore the island of Sri Lanka, located just 35 km. from India across the Palk Strait. It has a rich history and cultural heritage. Its stunning natural setting provided refuge for early Buddhists. The country remains a major centre of Theravada Buddhism, but there are also many Hindus, Muslims and Christians. We will consider how geography, climate and foreign intruders have all influenced the island as we know it today.
