Organizational Change through Transformative Learning

The successful implementation of today’s organizational change initiatives frequently requires individuals to learn new systems of beliefs. This CACE elective will help you think critically and reflect on the process of change and transformational learning; and how to structure and facilitate this learning for change at the personal, team and organizational levels.

EDCA210- Organizational Change Through Transformative Learning can also be taken as an elective in the Computer Based Information Systems (CBIS) program.

Objective

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Clarify the unique role of transformative learning within the context of cultural change in organizations
• Describe how transformative learning can effect pronounced personal change
• Outline the constructivist foundation of transformative learning and its implications for human resource development
• Explain the dynamics and challenges of managing cultural change initiatives
• Develop a plan for using transformative learning in support of a cultural change initiative
• Describe the roles and responsibilities of the mentor-guide in facilitating transformative learning in support of a cultural change initiative
