Management Practices

CBA/DBA/CBIS Course

• Program Options: CBA DBA CBIS

This course provides managers and students who aspire to management positions with an opportunity to assess and enhance their own use of contemporary management techniques and practices. Based on the extensive use of simulations in a workshop setting, the course focuses on strategic management, decision making, leadership and supervision, group process, conflict resolution, employee development, and performance planning and review.

Recommended Prerequisites: Business Administration (BMBA100) and/or a minimum of three years supervisory experience.

Format

Please Note:  This course is offered in multiple formats, but not every format will be offered each term.

On Campus

This course is normally 13 weeks in duration and consists of one three-hour class per week. Classes are customarily held on campus on weekdays from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. This schedule may vary, depending on class format and location.

By Distance

Students login to the course and communicate with the instructor and fellow students via the course management system Moodle. For further information about Moodle, visit the Moodle Startup Kit at http://distance.uvic.ca/onlinehelp/tutorials/moodle/. All assignments and course activities will be submitted electronically to the course instructor.
