This course is designed to introduce you to coaching and counselling skills that are relevant for the workplace, for interpersonal communication and for effective problem solving. You will learn fundamental skills such as listening carefully and paraphrasing so that you can respond and probe for information respectfully. This highly practical course, focused on experiential learning, will provide you with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate both coaching and counselling skills. Although this course is not designed to prepare you to be a professional coach or counsellor, it will provide you with the opportunity to learn the differences and similarities between coaching and counselling, and enable you to engage in both activities at an introductory level.
