This course provides you with the background to evaluate the risks and assess the available tools to provide a secure environment for the IT infrastructure of an organization. Security issues and solutions are discussed both from a management as well as from a technical perspective.
Upon completion of IT Security, you will understand the security threat and the risk assessment process and how to apply it to operating system and network communications security in a way that supports business requirements. In addition, you will learn about security policies, procedures, and user awareness as well as disaster recovery and business continuation planning. Case studies and self assessment exercises provide for self-evaluation, reinforcing the concepts presented in the course.
Prerequisites: Computing Concepts and Networks and Network Management or equivalent experience
