Business Administration

CBA/DBA/CBIS Course

• Program Options: CBA DBA CBIS

This course introduces you to the nature and scope of decision making in business, and provides an overview of the functional areas of management, finance, marketing, and organizational behaviour. Using a business case approach, you will develop a personal framework for defining and analyzing business problems and developing solutions and plans of action.

It is strongly recommended you take this course first in the Certificate in Business Administration Program.

Format

Please Note:  This course is offered in multiple formats, but not every format will be offered each term. 

On Campus

The course is normally 13 weeks in duration and consists of one three-hour class per week. Classes are customarily held on campus on weekdays from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. This schedule may vary, depending on class format and location.

By Distance

Students login to the course and communicate with the instructor and fellow students via the course management system Moodle. For further information about Moodle, visit the Moodle Startup Kit at http://distance.uvic.ca/onlinehelp/tutorials/moodle/. All assignments and course activities will be submitted electronically to the course instructor.

Intensive course

Students may also take this course in intensive format on-campus course to reduce completion time.  This course is completed in Intensive format as a mandatory part of the part-time Certificate and Diploma in Business Administration programs, as well as the Certificate in Business Administration - Fast Track program, the Diploma in Business Administration - Aviation program, and the Diploma in Business Administration - Accelerated program.
